Pro-loco Photography Competition 2017 - Entries

This year's competition attracted 245 entries, the most we have received in any year since its inception in 2010. The Shortlisting Committee then had the hard task of shortlisting to just over 90. This year we also received entries from Young Photographers (aged 12-16) and Juniors (aged 8-11). Below are the shortlisted entries.

All winners were all notified at a presentation ceremony held in early November. The winners are listed below. The number after each winner corresponds to the number at the bottom left hand corner of the slideshow. Alternatively if you hover your cursor on each picture, you will see the name of the entrant.

1st Prize - John Smith (38)

2nd Prize - Tom Storey (8)

3rd Prize - Simon Beynon (91)

Best Picture from a Villager - Peter Reed (21)

Parish Council Award - Rebecca Parker (20)

Best Picture of Holy Trinity Church - Phil Sutcliffe (85)

Best Picture of the Illuminations (sponsored by DDDC) - Jackie Goodwin (29)

Best Picture of Masson Mills - Steve Watson (12)

Best Picture of New Bath Hotel - Peter Keeble (81)

Best Picture of A Hidden Gem of Matlock Bath - Sophie Williams (92)

Best Picture of Heritage of Matlock Bath - Sean Barnett (16)

1st Prize - Young Photographer (Aged 12-16) - Emma Handley (34)

1st Prize - Junior Photographer (Aged 8-11) - Evie Ferris (3)

The Parish Council would like to thank all of the sponsors for the event - in particular, the Heights of Abraham and to all of the entrants.

Details of the 2018 competition will be on this website in February.
