Complaints Procedure Policy

The Complaints Policy sets out procedures for dealing with complaints that anyone might have about Matlock Bath Parish Council's administration and procedures. It applies to the Clerk for the Parish Council. Councillors are covered by the Code of Conduct which was adopted on 27th June 2012. If a complaint about procedures or administration as practised by the Council's employee is notified to a Councillor or the Clerk, the Council should seek to satisfy the complaint fully. If that fails, the complainant should be asked to put the complaint in writing to the Clerk of the Council and be assured that it will be dealt with promptly after receipt. If the complainant prefers not to put the complaint to the Clerk of the Council he/she should be advised to put it to the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Council.

Any complaint against the Clerk will be fully investigated by the Finance and General Purposes Committee in the first instance.
