2020 year would have seen the 41st Pro Loco Art Competition held in Matlock Bath. This is an annual competition and open to everyone aged 14 and above. The main rule is that the finished piece must depict a scene or artefact of Matlock Bath. Unfortunately due to the covid 19 restrictions, the decision was made to cancel the event for this year All entries will be carried forward to next year and we will be in touch.

The Parish Council was very disappointed to have to do this but with uncertain times, we feet we would not be able to exhibit the work and allow people to come into the vote.

Any entries received will be put forward for the 2021 event.

The finished piece can be in a variety of media – including textiles, 3D, embroidery, ceramics – as well as drawing an painting – you can even do a collage! We also accept entries using digital art. Entrants choosing this media, must show that they have used the same sort of skill as traditional approaches. We would not accept the ‘one click’ solution whereby the software is doing all the work.
